We’re proud to feature It’s Go Time, an original oil painting by Shawn Faust, selected as the 2025 cover artwork for Saratoga—an annual publication by Slocum Publishing that celebrates the history, pageantry, and culture of racing season in Saratoga Springs.

Now in its 25th consecutive year, Saratoga is an annual regional magazine from Slocum Publishing, created in partnership with the Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau  .

This 24 x 24” canvas captures the focus and energy just before post time—set beneath the iconic red-and-white paddock tents, with handlers in motion and light filtering through the trees. It’s a scene every Saratogian knows well, rendered with Faust’s signature control of atmosphere and gesture.

About the Artist

Shawn Faust is a classically trained oil painter based in Delaware, best known for his equestrian work. His background in scientific illustration adds clarity and structure to his compositions, while his painterly approach keeps them loose and expressive.

He holds a BFA from the University of Delaware and studied at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. His work has been featured in American Art Collector, Southwest Art, Polo Magazine, and multiple juried exhibitions with the American Academy of Equine Art and Oil Painters of America.

Faust’s paintings have appeared on the Saratoga magazine cover for several years, each time offering a new take on the energy and elegance of the season.
