About the Artist
Eugene Viti has been involved in many aspects of horse racing for over 40 years, as a photographer, writer, racing personality and now as an artist.
What started as a decorative home project has now blossomed into a unique avenue for Eugene to channel his equine passion by creating personalized jockey bookends for owners and fans in whatever colors they’d like. His clients include the owner of a former Triple Crown winner, a Kentucky Derby winning rider and owners from across the globe.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Eugene started sketching horses the moment he got home from his first visit to the track. He also was a fan of the colorful silks the riders wore during races, and the jockey statues adorning the racetrack entrances.
He started photographing horses in the late 70’s and was a credentialed photographer, shooting some of the biggest races in the country from coast to coast. He’s driven by the colors and imagery he brings to life in two mediums.
A former Wall St. executive, Eugene is now Director of IT Operations for FanDuel and spends his spare time on his equine photography and jockey bookends at his residences in Ballston Spa and Lynbrook, NY.
