About the Book

The Travers: Saratoga’s Midsummer Derby, 1864 – 2023. Described by Thoroughbred Racing Commentary’s Charles Hayward as “the best racing book since Seabiscuit,” this meticulously researched and visually stunning coffee table book chronicles the first 154 editions of the Travers Stakes, America’s oldest thoroughbred race for 3-year-olds.

This publication is more than just a collection of race results; it is an in-depth exploration of each year’s race and the stories that have made the Travers a national sporting treasure.
