This summer, Spa Fine Art Gallery presents Famous Fillies, a bold new exhibition by acclaimed artist Lisa Palombo celebrating the most legendary female racehorses in history. Inspired by the 50th anniversary of the great Ruffian, this collection honors the spirit and power of champions like Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra—fillies who redefined excellence on the track.

Join us for an early preview and sneak peek of the exhibit, where you’ll have the chance to meet the artist and special guests. Famous Fillies opens this July in the heart of Saratoga’s racing season. This event is open to the public and reservations are optional.

Opening July 31st, the Famous Fillies exhibition officially begins with a celebratory evening at Spa Fine Art Gallery. This full unveiling of Lisa Palombo’s bold and expressive new collection pays tribute to racing’s most legendary female champions, including Ruffian, Zenyatta, and Rachel Alexandra.

Inspired by the 50th anniversary of Ruffian’s unforgettable final race, the exhibition honors the strength, spirit, and legacy of the fillies who shaped the sport. Join us from 6–8 PM for the official opening, meet the artist, and experience the complete show. On view through September 1st. This event is open to the public and reservations are optional.

ABOUT LISA PALOMBO

Lisa Palombo is a renowned Contemporary American Impressionist known for her expressive brushwork and fearless use of color. Her equine, polo and horseracing paintings are especially masterful, capturing the elegance, motion and thunder of these magnificent animals.

Lisa began her formal art education at the age of nine while spending summers at the acclaimed Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). She later graduated from RISD with honors and has been painting professionally for over 30 years. Her awe-inspiring artwork adorns the walls of private collectors and corporate collections worldwide.

Lisa’s work has been featured on more than 40 book covers, including several New York Times bestsellers as well as showcased in House & Garden, Art & Antiques Magazine, Southern Living, The Artist’s Magazine, American Art Review and a Columbia Pictures movie, The Bounty Hunter.

She is listed in the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C., and the Marquis Who’s Who in American Art. Her paintings are featured in the books The Best of Oil Painting, Exploring Color, The Best of American Oil Artists (Vol. II) and Lisa Palombo: American Impressionist. Lisa is also a member of the American Impressionist Society, Audubon Artists Association, and Elected resident member of the prestigious Salmagundi Art Club, New York, New York. Her art can also be found in select galleries and in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S.
