About Janine Robertson

As a contemporary realist painter, Janine Robertson specializes in landscape oil paintings on aluminum and copper.

Janine began her career as a muralist and trompe l’oeil painter. As her work evolved, she changed her focus to landscape painting finding a more intimate scale for her work. It was in this exploration of landscapes that she discovered a love of aluminum as a substrate. The 
ultra-smooth surface highlights brushstrokes and texture while adding an ethereal quality to the work. Her luminous paintings capture the light and mood of the New England landscape and use of transparent colors and glaze create a vibrant palette.

Robertson’s work is included in many private and public collections including Yale New Haven Health, Campbell’s Soup Headquarters, The Florence Griswold Museum and UConn Health. She is a member of the Copley Society of Art, The Salmagundi Club, OPA, Lyme Art Association (Elected Artist) and serves on the Board of Directors for the Madison Art Society.
