About Megan Mumford

Megan Mumford is a professional photographer with over two decades of experience specializing in authentic, connection-driven portraiture. Megan holds a Bachelor of Science in Visual Arts and Psychology from Union College in Schenectady, NY, and also studied abroad at York St. John University in England, where she continued coursework in both disciplines. Her academic background informs her ability to capture honest, emotionally resonant images with artistic intention.
Her professional career began by assisting and photographing with established studios before founding her business in 2005. Over the past two decades, she has continued to refine her craft through both digital and traditional methods, holding close to the foundational techniques she first learned in the darkroom—where intention, light, and patience shaped every piece of work.
Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout New York, including Collar Works in Troy, the Mandeville Gallery in Schenectady, and multiple installations at local establishments in the Capital Region. She was awarded First Place in the Women’s Studies Art Competition in 2001 and most recently her photography has been featured in several publications in association with Skidmore College’s Tang Museum and regional magazines including Capital Region Living Magazine and Saratoga Living Magazine.
Based in Upstate New York, Megan continues to create meaningful photographic work that celebrates connection, story, and the quiet beauty found in the world around her.
